SEO stand for Search Engine Optimization. It is one of the technique used for Internet Marketing. Generally SEO define as the optimization of web page to make search engine-friendly to get higher position among all the search results. To do SEO one must be having knowledge of search engine algorithms and some familiarity with HTML coding and the Internet.

1. How Search Engines Work

Search Engine is made with high level of technology to search any word in seconds. Though it has advance technology, but it cannot enjoy the design, cannot hear the sound of audio, and unable to enjoy the videos. So it only depends on “text” appears on webpage and its “keywords”. Search engine crawl the text given to search and then deliver the particular result according to the text. This process called – crawling, indexing, processing, calculating relevancy, and retrieving.

Search Engine first Crawl the web to check the text of websites. To perform this it used Crawler or spiders (software). It follow the links exist in pages and indexing all the result accordingly. Crawler can be store details of 20 billion pages at time. Many times it is very difficult to do daily basis work by Search Engine. So they have there own schedules accordingly. So, after doing a good SEO we have to wait for a better result until it crawl by any Search Engine.

Search engine cannot generate result for the page which are very highly protected or images or videos. Before start any SEO work we have check all those things.

2. Differences Between the Major Search Engines

Basically all search engine work in same manner use same tools. But Search result is always different to each other. This is due to difference between there adoptability or crawling methods towards the webpages. Google are more traditional then the Yahoo and MSN. Yahoo and MSN are giving more priority to keywords but Google work exactly opposite to the Yahoo or MSN, it love links. So to get good result in any search engine you must do a good link building as well as to do better keywords formation.
